David J. Theriault

Mr. Theriault is currently Senior Vice President In Situ and Exploration for Laricina Energy Ltd. Mr. Theriault has 31 years of heavy oil and oil sands experience.
Prior to joining Laricina, he was President of Triangle Three Engineering Ltd., providing consulting services directed at oil sands resource assessment, development, and exploitation; and provided strategic support to gas over bitumen regulatory applications and technical solutions. Formerly, Mr. Theriault was Director, Oil Sands at Gulf Canada (now ConocoPhillips) from 1997 to 2001, responsible for the Surmont pilot and the 100,000 barrels of oil per day commercial projects, Syncrude interests, upgrading initiatives, and the gas over bitumen challenge. Mr. Theriault is an active member with the Canadian Heavy Oil Association since 1986 and has served on various technical committees, the board of directors and two terms as President.
Mr. Theriault holds a Bachelor of Science in Mineral (Petroleum) Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a practicing member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
