Laricina is pleased to present two papers at the 2010 Heavy Oil Development International Seminar held in Panjin City, China September 14-17, 2010. To learn more about this international seminar click here.

Jeff Peterson, Senior Reservoir Engineer, will present a paper entitled “Evaluation of Carbonate Reservoirs for Thermal Bitumen Recovery”. This paper reviews the general principles of carbonate reservoir geology, followed by a review of SAGD principles and a discussion of key petrophysical properties for thermal evaluation as well as SAGD physics in dual porosity systems.  Implementation in stratified reservoirs, where regional barriers may isolate adjacent pay zones will also be reviewed. Angie Wong, EIT Enhanced Oil Recovery, will present an additional paper, “Engineering Aspects of Solvent-Additive Steam Recovery”, which highlights the economic and environmental impacts of solvent based recovery from a technical perspective. Click here to view presentation.
